SOS – Save Our Solar! – REMINDER AND UPDATE

BONUS!  Two events in one week!

1.  SOS: Save our Solar! UPDATED

The Victorian Government has this week failed to deliver the goods on its long awaited solar feed-in tariff for Victoria.

They have delivered a fake version of a feed-in tariff that will provide none of the emission reductions or solar industry development that we really need.

We must TAKE URGENT ACTION NOW to ensure Victoria’s solar future.

Join us from 8.30am-9.30am sharp on the steps of Parliament House this coming Thursday 8th May to tell Premier John Brumby and the Victorian Government that we want a REAL Feed-In Tariff for Victoria’s solar future.

We need your help to get at least 200 people along, so bring your friends, bring your placards and let the Politicians know what we want.

The Brumby government has failed it’s first test on climate change since the Premiers Climate Summit. Let’s let them know that we expect better from our leaders.

  • Where: Steps of Parliament House, top of Bourke St

  • When: 8.30am-9.30am, Thursday 8th May 2008

  • Who: Anyone who loves solar power or wants to see the Victorian government take real action on climate change

Organised by Environment Victoria, the Alternative Technology Association, the Moreland Energy Foundation, Friends of the Earth, and the Electrical Trades Union

I hope to see you there!

2. Mothers UNITE to Clean Up Our Climate!

Mother’s Day Rally: 12.15pm-12.45pm Sunday 11 May, Federation Square

(immediately following the Mother’s Day Classic)

This year, tell our leaders what you really want (besides chocolate & breakfast in bed!)…

For today’s and tomorrow’s children to enjoy the same safe climate that we all grew up in.

You don’t need to be a mother to join us, it’s enough to have had one.

So gather your mother, other people’s mothers, friends, colleagues, neighbours and join us for a big group photograph to tell our leaders to:

“Clean up our climate —

for our young people’s sake!”

For greater effect bring along a photo of a young person to hold up.

Brigitte Duclos, co-host of Mix 101.1FM’s breakfast radio program, Two Women & A Metro, will host and keynote speakers will join us to voice their concerns about the impacts of climate change on future generations.

Proudly supported by Environment Victoria, The Victorian Women’s Trust, Federation Square, Greenpeace and Sids and Kids Victoria

Please feel free to contact me for further information regarding either of these important events.  I hope to see you there.

Kind regards,
