Motor Vehicles per Household

18 04 2008

Based on 2001 Census information

  • No motor vehicle 4,126
  • 1 motor vehicle 16,813
  • 2 motor vehicles 19,065
  • 3 or more motor vehicles 9,163
  • Not stated 3,111
  • TOTAL 52,278

More than half of the city has 2 or more motor vehicles.

Households with 2 or more motor vehicles will have much higher CO2 emissions and is an indicator of the lack of public transport options for residents and ratepayers.

But by making less trips in the car(s) to the milk bar, or down to the local take-away, we can diminish greenhouse gas emissions.
